New Glitz Goodness

Have you seen two of the new lines Glitz will be releasing at CHA next month? Here's a peek...These are both going to be so fun to use. I'm really liking the bright and bold color combo of the Scarlett line. What do you think?

They will also be releasing a third line. Can't wait to see it!

On a side note, anyone going to see the new Twilight movie tonight? I'll be there at midnight tonight! And again tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. I committed to two different groups of friends that I would go with them, so it looks like I get to go twice. Hope the movie is decent and worth seeing twice.

Sunshine and Bike Riding

We have had a lot of sunshine here in Arizona this past week. We try to stay inside as much as possible, but we do also spend a good amount of time in the pool. I guess all of the sun we've had inspired me to make this card.Tonight we took our kids to my parents house so they could get their bikes ready for a neighborhood 4th of July parade coming up this weekend. Their neighborhood has done a 4th of July parade for years and it's a fun family tradition.

While at my parents, my 5 year old asked if I'd take off her training wheels. Of course, I would! We decided to have her ride through the grass and I held onto the bike for about 4 seconds before letting go and she was off. She was so happy and proud of herself. Love that smile!

Another thing that has been keeping me busy lately is reading through many great Scrapbook Circle design team submissions over the past few days. If you are interested in being on the DT, you can get the info here.

Hope your week is off to a great start.

A Few Fun Finds

Today I came across a few cool things online and thought I'd share them with you.

First up is this beautiful camera bag from Jo Totes. It comes in several colors. Love the rose detail and the 1/2 inch padding all around the bag. Not sure that I need a camera bag, but maybe you do!

Love this print from elsiejoy.I've followed Elise's blog for a while and always enjoy seeing what projects she is working on.

Check out these cool prints.Looks like she has several different states. The print info says that a heart comes over the state capitol, but she will place the heart over any city you would like. How fun is that?

And what do you think about these adorable cupcake stands from hello hanna.I think they are gread just as they are, but what about with some jewels or flowers added to them?

That's all for today, but I'll be on the lookout for more fun finds. Have a great day!

Elle's Studio Design Team

A few years ago (2007) I was browsing through etsy and came across some great pirate themed tags for a birthday party I was thinking about for Max. They were from a fun store: Elle's Studio. I ordered the tags and have been using Elle's products ever since.

Since then Elle's Studio has really grown and I have enjoyed using Elle's products.

A few weeks ago I saw that Elle was having a design team call and I decided to send her samples of my work.

Guess what? She asked me to be on her design team! I am so excited about this opportunity. I'm looking forward to showcasing Elle's fun products.

You can go here to see the DT announcement.

An Afternoon Surprise

Look at what my husband brought home this afternoon...Cupcakes from Sprinkles.

Which one would you have first? The lemon, cinnamon sugar or white cake/chocolate frosting?

Happy Father's Day!

I enjoyed the day celebrating Father's Day yesterday with my wonderful husband. My dad, along with other family, came over to celebrate with a delicious dinner.

Here's a look at the card I made for my dad. I can seem to stop distressing the edges of my paper lately.Everything on this card came from the upcoming July Scrapbook Circle kit.We finished off our evening with this amazing chocolate cake.
My talented baker sister, Michelle, made the cake. So decadent. Amazing.

New Scrapbook Circle Site

I am so excited to share the new Scrapbook Circle site.

LOVE the new, clean design. No more distracting background. I wanted something black/gray where all of the color would come from the kits and layout ideas.
Huge thanks goes to my amazing husband and his company, drawbackwards for making this happen. Special thanks goes out to Ben for all of his hard work.

Stop by the new site and let me know what you think of it.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Randomness

Thought I'd share some random things that have been going on this week.

1. I need to buy new sunglasses. I've looked at two different places, but can't find a pair I like. The arm broke off of my current pair over a week ago and I've been wearing them around with only one arm. Maybe I'll start a new style trend!

2. My husband grilled the best burger I've ever had this week. The magical ingredient was this:3. My kids were all in a choir camp with the Chandler Children's Choir from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this week. I enjoyed the quiet house and got a lot of work done. So much to do to get the new Scrapbook Circle site ready!

4. All week I've been unsubscribing myself from pretty much every company based sales email I've received. I think I was signed up for over 50 sales type emails a day. I was tried of hitting delete all day long.

5. Today I received an email from Downeast Basics. (I did not remove myself from their email list - I'm still interested in what they may try to sell to me!) They featured this cute shirt in the email. I my have to head to the mall sometime soon to get one for myself.6. I'm in charge of a Father's Day breakfast at church tomorrow. I just assembled a few overnight casseroles that I will bake in the morning. Other people have signed up to bring fruit and baked goods. Should be a fun way to start off a Saturday!

7. I've done three good workouts this week: one at home and two at the gym.

8. I've enjoyed listening to the Madonna Pandora channel while I've been driving around this week.

9. There are several fields growing corn at various locations near our house. I love that it gives our busy neighborhood a touch of a country feel. And I'm excited to have freshly grown corn on the cob very soon.

Okay, that's all for now! I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

New Scrapbook Circle Site

A new Scrapbook Circle site design has been on my to do list for quite a long time. With budgeting and time constraints, it just hasn't happened. Until now.

Here's a look at what the new homepage will look like.No more blue swirly flower background! I wanted something very clean and easy to use with pops of color from the kit and idea photos.

The new site should be live by this weekend.

What do you think?

More Beach Photos + a Free Class

Hello and happy Tuesday!

This photo just made it onto a layout I just created. The bright blue distressed paper from Glitz made such a great background. What a great color!I was excited to use some Jenni Bowlin Butterflies and that Girls' Paperie alpha is one of my new favs. Everything on this layout will be in the upcoming July Scrapbook Circle kit.

Thought I'd pass along info on a free online class I just signed up for: Jessica Sprague's Digital Tricks for Cards. I've taken her classes before and I really enjoy that she packs in useful information with a really easy to follow style. You can go here for the details. Looks like there are still a couple of weeks to sign up before class starts. Should be fun!

Beach Love

Last night I printed off these pictures of my girls and their friends at the beach. I ended up printing the photos with white borders instead of black because it felt like the black was a bit to dark and heavy for the layout.

Here's a look at the Beach Love layout.
Everything on this layout is from the upcoming July Scrapbook Circle kit. I must say that I had a really fun time playing with it. We ordered the Glitz Kismet numbers paper back in January when we were at CHA and I've been looking forward to doing something with it ever since then.My paper distressor once again got a workout on this page. For some reason I just can't leave a layout alone until it feels a little torn and messy lately.

Thanks for stopping by!

Glitz on HSN

A couple of days ago Laura from Glitz Designs was on HSN sharing two scrapbooking kits. I was asked if I would put a couple of layouts together that Laura could share on the show featuring the Maya line.

Of course, I was totally excited to get to do this!

My first featured my sister on her birthday with her doughnut cake. This is not a color combo that I've used a lot, but I really liked how the bright green, pink and navy worked so well together.I did an accordion folded paper along the bottom of the photos. It gives a nice amount of dimention without being too bulky. My Heidi Swapp edge distressor was used around the edges of the flowers and all of the paper.

My second layout featured photos that I shared here a few weeks ago.To make this bird embellishment, I used the bird stamp from the kit as a mask. I set the stamp on the paper and them used pink glimmer mist over the stamp. With a rub-on and some bling, it was a fun way to dress up the layout. You can see the Maya kit on HSN here along with a video of the Glitz show. Laura shows my layouts near the end of the segment.

The Vintage Love kit is also great. I have this kit too and love playing with it.

Bits and Pieces of Glitz Goodness

I've been having so much fun playing with my Glitz goodies lately!

Today I'd like to share two different layouts using Glitz goods that I created using strips of paper. Using paper strips is a great way to use up your scraps and really get the most of every sheet of patterned paper.

Here's a look at my first layout. Here I used several short paper strips and punched the edges with my EK Success paper edger. This added a little more interest to the little strips. I also used the grid distressing stamp on top of each of the paper strips and the larger square paper under the photo. The texture the stamps added was perfect for adding a little something without going crazy.I combined paper, rub-ons and stickers from the Kismet and Vintage Love lines. They really work so well together!

The next layout I want to share with you also uses strips of paper as a main design element of the page. Only this time, I had the paper strips run all the way across the page.I think this is a great technique to use when you want to use a variety of patterns on a page without the page getting too cluttered or busy. I also used strips of paper to frame the page.Keeping with the paper strip theme, I cut the title of this page from a Glitz sticker sheet into strips. I distressed the edges of the stickers and layered them with Glitzers, rub-ons and stickers.
I love that so many fun paper patterns will fit onto a page when using paper strips!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Back from the Beach

Last week, my family and I went our annual beach camping trip to Carlsbad State Beach Park. We meet up with four other families and had a fabulous time together.

I'm not a really big camper, but when there is a beach view from the campsite, it seems to make camping a little more luxurious. We had bathrooms, showers and even a camp store very close to our camp site.

The best part of the week was sitting on the beach and taking pictures of my kids.

Here's photo I took of my daughter on day 2 at the beach. I'm pretty sure my kids had a great time too. I'll be back soon. I just need to plow my way through the enormous mounds of laundry we created on our vacation.

Birthday Time

May is a busy time of year for us with birthdays. Last weekend we were able to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. She is such a wonderful and caring person. It was fun to spend time with her and our family.

Here she is right after she left my 5 year old paint her nails. She is more brave than I am!I had fun playing with the Jenni Bowlin Play Date goods for her card. I've loving the red/yellow/blue color combo!I love celebrating birthdays. Do you?

Card supplies: Jenni Bowlin June SC addon, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Alphas, October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper. Digital photo frame from House of 3.

Happy Mother's Day

We took a bunch of photos of the kids and I on Mother's Day. A couple of days ago I decided to do a layout with one of my favorite pictures from that day.I must say that I am loving The Girls' Paperie travel cuts. Here I used several of the tags under the photo to add a little dimension. Plus, I love that vintage camera. And of course I love the little triangle banner die cuts. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day.

Everything on this layout came from the Scrapbook Circle June kit.
