Fabulous Fall

This afternoon I has some fun creating with a 7 Gypsies Receipt Holder and the Scrapbook Circle November Kit.

One of my favorite things about working with kits is that it takes so much time out of the project. With everything already coordinated and sitting in front of me, it took under two hours to put this together.

My favorite part of this project is the banner. I used bakers twine for the string and laid out all of the little pennant stickers. I did keep the backing on the stickers so that they can hang free and not stick to things. To attach the stickers to a string, I set the string out on my table and used a little glossy accents on each banner sticker to glue the sting and stickers together.

I've loving the corrugated shapes from Jillibean Soup in the kit. I used Glimmer Mist on a couple and layered them up with some burlap for an embellishment.

This receipt holder is really cool because you don't have to glue the paper to the board. The clips just hold the papers in place. This makes it easy to switch out elements for different seasons or you could just change out photos each year.

This and That

I just saw this fantastic idea from this blog. This makes such a stunning statement with black cardstock and scissors.

I'll need to file this idea away for next Halloween.

I bought these apothocary jars last weekend at a local boutique. My friend, Jennie, made them. Don't they look great? She did such a great job collecting jars, bases and top and matching them all up.

I have a real weakness for Peanut M&M's, so I'm not sure what I was thinking when I put some in one of the jars. The rest of my family is really enjoying the sour pumpkins I found at Sweeties Candy Store.

It's been a very productive scrapbook week. Lots of layouts have been created and I'll be sharing them soon. For now, here's a peek at one of them:

Halloween Fun

Halloween is such a fun holiday. I love that there isn't the stress of buying gifts or even making a fancy meal. It's just about having fun together with friends and family.

This weekend we went to a Halloween party in my parents' neighborhood. The party had bounce houses, face painting, snow cones and pumpkin carving. It was a perfect way to spent a cool fall evening.

This year we have a Candy Corn Witch, a fairy and a ninja. It was fun to get a little extra use out of their costumes.

We added a little Halloween decor to our kitchen today.

I found these Halloween paper lanterns at Paper Source in NYC when I was there a couple of weeks ago. They survived the trip home in my suitcase and I really like how they look.

Hope you are looking forward to a great week.

Happy Mail

I just received my most recent copy of Scrapbook Trends Magazine and look what's in it...

My "We Love Disneyland" layout. Sweet! It's always so fun to see my work in print. :)

Any fun weekend plans? We're having friends over tonight for pizza and games. We'll have 2 moms and 9 kids. Should be a real party!

Hope you're having a great day.

Sweet Berry Farm

While we were in Newport, RI last week, we found a great local farm where the kids could run free in a pumpkin patch. They also sold homemade ice cream (the salted caramel was so delish!) and they had a market with a lot of fresh produce.

I used the upcoming November Scrapbook Circle kit for this layout with a few of my favorite photos from our visit to Sweet Berry Farm.

And, here's peek at the kit...

More peeks are over on the Scrapbook Circle Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

And here's a peek of work from everyone on the Elle DT.

Can't wait to see the full reveal!

Exciting News!

I've been asked to join the Fancy Pants Designs Creative Team! I'm so excited about this. Fancy Pants has been one of my favorite scrapbook manufacturers for years and now I get to create with even more of their fantastic goodies.

This was one of the layouts I shared in my submission for the DT. Love the combo of the Fancy Pants and Glitz on this layout.

On another note, I was in Concord, Massachusetts yesterday and got to actually see trees with changing leaves.

This may not be exciting to many of you, but to someone from the Phoenix area, this is something that we don't get to experience and I was pretty excited about how beautiful the leaves were. The pictures just can't capture the vibrance and beauty.

We are now home, doing laundry and getting back into the swing of things.
