Vintage Market Kit Giveaway!

I have really been having fun with this month's Scrapbook Circle Kit, Vintage Market. In fact I've been enjoying so much that I want to giveaway a kit to one of my blog readers!

Before I get to the giveaway details, I'd like to share one more layout I created with the kit.

This page took about 3 hours over a couple of days because I just kept moving the photos around and nothing felt quite right until I moved the photos into this arrangement. I was happy with the final results!

This kit is filled with many little bit of goodness. Loving those Jenni Bowlin number banner stickers and the homemade layers tags from Elle's Studio. Plus the little circle around the 24 (the date on the layout) was from the Scrapbook Circle Printable.

Also loving those little Maya Road ticket.

Want to win a Vintage Market Kit?

Just leave a comment letting me know your favorite item in this kit and you are entered. Comments will close this Sunday, the 13th @ 8 p.m. I'll post a winner on Monday the 14th.

If you already have this kit and win, you can trade it out for the April Kit.

Working on My OLW

I've been slowing plugging away with working on goals related to my One Little Word for this year.

One of the areas I've been focusing on is "growing" my health. When the new year started, I was being quite lazy with my exercise habits. I decided to step things up and I've been getting to the gym or running from home 3 -4 times per week so far this year.

This month I've decided to take set an additional goal of running at least 24 miles this month. This means running 3 miles two days each week. I don't consider myself a strong runner, but it is something that I can quickly do from home and it doesn't take a big part of my day. Plus, I always feel great when I'm finished.

Thanks to my friend Katie for letting me know about the Runkeeper app for my phone. As I run, it updates me every 5 minutes with how far I've run and the pace I've been running. It helps motivate me to keep going.

So far this month, I've run 9.98 miles! Only 14.02 miles to go to reach my goal.

Another area where I'm working to improve my health (and my family's health too) is planning out our week night dinners. This is probably something that most of you already do, but I was in the bad habit of waiting until around 5:00 each day to start thinking about dinner. This led to way too many nights of grilled cheese sandwiches, take out, and generally not well planned meals.

Now I plan and write out our meals on a chalkboard in our kitchen and do all of the shopping on Mondays.

I try to plan a couple of meatless nights (this week we only have 1) and mix up different styles of food (Mexican, Italian, etc.) This week the pork roast we have tonight will be used again in our quesdillas on Thursday. Last night's fajitas included peppers, onions, avacado, salsa and fresh cilianto with a little grill chicken. Yum!

With kids involved in piano lessons, dance, scouts, volleyball and choir during the week, having dinner planned out is key to everyone's happiness!

The kids love looking at the board to see what is for dinner and I love it because they don't need to ask what's for dinner.

We usually do a pizza/movie night on Friday, so I didn't need to plan a meal for that night. Sometimes we grill pizzas or we'll just order it. Saturdays are usually leftovers or date night. Sunday nights are usually with family or friends and we'll plan that out on Saturday.

For now, I'm feeling pretty good with getting 4 nights a week planned.

I'd love to hear about your favorite weeknight meals. I'm on the lookout for some new recipes to try!

Thanks for stopping by! I always love hearing from you.

Packing and Packing Some More

The past two days have been filled with packing and shipping our largest amount of Scrapbook Circle kits ever. I'm so grateful that so many people enjoy our kits!

Yesterday, Diana, Jennie, Rebecca and I spent several hours packing up all of the Vintage Market Kits. We usually have the kits packed before the beginning of the month, but since this kit had so many new products in it, we had to wait until everything arrived.

Next month, I plan on taking photos of the packing process to share. But for now, I do have a picture of some of the boxes ready and waiting for the mail carrier to stop by and pick them up.

Now that the boxes are all packed, it's time to start gathering things together for our family taxes. Not fun, but I may as well get it over with!

Fun Finds Friday #5

Happy Friday to you!

I'd like to share a few of my favorite finds from the past week with you today.

1. These cool Elle's Studio tags are FREE at jessicasprague.com this weekend. I love adding small tags to layouts!

2. Online Job Chart. I love having our kids help around the house. During the week things are very busy, but I do have them help with dinner and dishes. Saturdays are our main day to really clean things up. Here's a look at our job chart from last Saturday.

I write all of the chores on a big chalkboard we have hanging in the hall. It works fine, but I think this new website could be more motivating to my kids. My kids LOVE anything with a computer or screen, so I'm thinking they would like checking off assigned chores online. I'll let you know how it goes.

3. Loving the bright colors on this keyboard. Too bad it's sold out.

4. One more fun rainbow item for today: a Pot of Gold St. Patrick's Day treat from Beth Proudfoot. Beth has a free download on her blog for the badge. What a clever idea!

That's all of today!

Do you have any fun weekend plans? We are going here for dinner tonight and then out to see this movie. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get in a lot of creative time tomorrow!

Scrapbook Circle Vintage Market

Have you seen the new Vintage Market Scrapbook Circle Kit? I'm really loving the classic black and white colors mixed with the bold and bright red, yellow and blue.

I'm also excited to play with these new Elle's Studio Pennants

and this twine.

Now I need to plan out some serious creative time so that I can create with all of this goodness!

One last thing for today, Scrapbook Pictures.com is having a sale on all of their square photos! I love getting 2 x 2 inch vacation photos printed from them. It's a great way to fill a mini book on a trip, get to include a lot of photos and not have the photos take up too much.

Now I need to get organized and figure out which photos I want to order.
