Celebrating Summer and a Birthday

This summer I've had a lot of fun taking photos with my Instagram app on my phone. This app takes square photos and has fun filter options, so it's really fun to play with. For my first layout today, I decided to print out a bunch of the Instagram photos I took during June and use them on a layout.

The bright yellow Glitz paper was perfect for this layout because of the bright and sunny color. We've saw a lot of sun here in AZ in June, so the paper reflects that. I love the contrast of the teal stickers and paint with the yellow background.

The second layout I made this month is one from my daughter's 11th birthday. We had a great time celebrating her birthday. One of my favorite things about her party was the cake I made for her. It had four layers of chocolate cake with a thick fudge frosting between each of the layers and it was topped with whipping cream and raspberries. I could go for a slice right now!

There were banners on her cake and I carried that theme over by using of of the Glitz Peek a Boo Transparency under the photo.

This Glitz Afternoon Muse Line is perfect for so many different occasions. I just can't seem to get enough of it!

Summer Fanncy Pants Peeks

I've been busy working on layouts with the new Fancy Pants lines this week. Everything has been mailed of the Fancy Pants for CHA (scrapbook trade show.) Can't share what I've been working on yet, but here's a peek at the new lines.

The Off to School line is really versatle and perfect for so much more that school pages. I also really like the aqua/yellow/orange color combo of the Summers End line.

I'll share my layouts next week. Thanks for stopping by today!

Painting and Purging

My scrapbook room has now been painted and the clean out is complete for now. (I still need to tackle the closet, but that will have to wait.)

I'm loving the new blue paint!

When I'm finished with the room I'll do a little tour. The main addition to the room is going to be a bigger dest/workspace from IKEA. I wan to have a place to put my sewing machine (it's still in the box and I have no idea how to use it!) plus I want to have a place for my kids to join me.

I'm also planning on moving the cube shelf up on top of the kitchen countertop that is on the left side of this picture. It will really free up some floor space.

Just wanted to mention that Tessa has a new challenge up on the Scrapbook Circle blog. The challenge is to create a layout using a red, white and blue color combo.

Should be a fun and simple challenge, right? Hope you will join in on the fun. You can get all of the details here.

Purging My Scrapbook Space

Lately my scrapbook room has been feeling way too full of stuff. I've let things pile up for too long and I'm finally doing something about it. The past two days have been spent purging many things from my scrapbook room. At least 6 large loads have been take to the dumpster.

I've saved some things to donate, but I'm pretty sure the swimming themed die cuts from 2001 and the paper scraps from 2003 will be better off at the dump that cluttering my space.

Here's a look at my scrapbook desk a couple of weeks ago. There wasn't even a space to work.

The main motivator for getting the room cleaned out is that we are having painter come to paint our bedroom and my scrapbook room tomorrow. Since I had to move almost everything out of the room for the painters, it was a perfect time to get rid of things that just aren't ever going to be used. I'm feeling lighter already!

Choosing a paint color has been a dilema for me this week. Nothing seemed right. I tried out a few yellow and green samples, but just couldn't settle on anything.

Then tonight I spotted a blue box in my room and loved the color. I took the box to Lowe's and found a paint color to match.

Tomorrow I will be surrounded by aqua glow in my scrapbook room. Can't wait to see how it looks!

Here's a look at the room all cleared out and ready for painting.

I'll be sure to post photos of the new walls.

A Few More Summer Album Pages

We had a crazy summer storm here last night. My daughter caught this picture from our backyard on my camera phone and the huge dust cloud (known as a Haboob) came rolling in.

You can watch a time lapsed video of the storm here. Pretty amazing.

Over the weekend I had a chance to work on a few more pages of my summer album. I'm enjoy the simple design and process that allows me to put this together quickly.

Hope your week is going well!

Happy 4th of July!

Hope you are enjoying the 4th of July today if you are in the U.S. We are attempting to escape the terrible heat of Phoenix and are going a couple of hours north of here to spend time with friends and cool off a bit.

Today I'd like to share a layout with photos from 4th of July last year that I created with the Scrapbook Circle Blast Off! Kit. Everything on the page is from the kit. One of my favorite things in the kit is the alpha page with 4 different alphabets. All four were used on this page.

Wishing you a wonderful and safe 4th of July!

Enjoying Everyday

When I named my blog "Enjoying Everyday" it was not because everyday is easy, wonderful and problem free. The name is there to remind me to focus on the good that happens everyday in my life and to be grateful for all of the wonderful things around me. It is also a reminder to create enjoyable experiences since they don't always appear without effort.

This week I received my weekly email quote from Compendium and I loved it.

Isn't that a great quote? Such a perfect reminder to find something enjoyable in our lives everyday.

This week has been busy and I haven't been blogging or creating very much because I've tried to spend a lot of time with my kids and focus on being with them. It's been wonderful to just relax a bit more than usual and really enjoy everyday.

Here's a look at what we've been up to this week.

Haircuts, movies, the kids doing a big play production with their friends, going to the gym (3 times!), playing at home, shopping at the mall, packing scrapbook kits, swimming, and dinners with friends and family. Such a perfectly busy and fun week.

I am loving summer and the freedom is allows our schedule!
