Happy, Happy Birthday!

It's birthday week around here this week. Two of my sisters have birthdays plus Hannah is turning 9. Since both of my sisters live across the country, I had to be organized and get presents off in the mail early.

I'm usually not a big card maker, so I was proud of myself for actually making cards for both of my sisters.  I went a little crazy cutting out triangles on this first card and had fun arranging them as the background design.

Card supplies: Paper + Washi: Glitz Finnley Collection, Wood Cut out: Scrapbook Circle So Happy Together Kit.)

For my second card, I had fun playing with big triangles, stars and some sewing.

Now I just need to do some birthday planning and shopping for Hannah. Luckily she has a wish list that includes art stuff and a Barbie set, so shopping should be finished up pretty easily.

Happy Father's Day (A Week Late)

We did celebrate Father's Day last Sunday, but I haven't had a chance to share a few photos and cards I put together until now.

I "tortured" the kids right after church by making the pose for a few pictures with Ward. They were actually good sports about it since they know that they can't get out of the obligatory Father's Day pictures.

We celebrated the day at my parents' house with my family and Ward's family too. We had a fantastic taco bar that was topped of with homemade Tres Leches Cake and Churros with Dulce de Leche. I think I'm still full from that meal!

Here's a look at a couple of cards I put together for our dads. I used envelopes from the Going Downtown Kit and spruced them up a bit.

It was another successful Father's Day and I'm so thankful that I got to celebrate with husband and dad.

Hello, Monday

I really love Mondays. It is the perfect day to get organized and all set for a full and productive week. I'm working through my email and several book keeping tasks this morning, but thought I'd take a break and share a couple of cards I made last week.

It's been quite a while since I've made a card, but I needed a couple to give to friends.

This "Hello Friend" card has an envelope pocket on the front and a little pull out note inside. It is just a card front and it doesn't open.

My other card was made for my daughter's friend's Bat Mitzvah. This was the first time we'd attended a Bat Mitzvah and it was really interesting and they really know how to throw a party.

We had a fantastic Mother's Day yesterday! We celebrated with my mom and Ward's mom along with our siblings and my dad. Everyone contributed to a really delicious Mediterranean meal topped off with homemade baklava made by my dad.  It was our first party at our new house and I'd say it was a success!

Right after church, Ward snapped a photo of the kids and I on our front porch and I think it's one of my new favorites.

Wishing you a happy week!
