Creative Estates Cupcakes and More

Tonight was the first event for Creative Estates. I feel so fortunate that this event is taking place 10 minutes from my house.

We met at a local restaurant for mingling and cupcakes. I sat with a few new friends where we ate and watched Kim from TomKatStudios put together an amazing cupcake display. We were surprised at how much time went into assembling the table. It took about an hour and a half to get it all set up.

Here's the ony picture I took tonight. It was in the dark and taken with my phone, so sorry for the poor quality.

Looking forward to a full weekend of inspiration. The CE agenda is here is case you want to see what it's all about. All of the classes sound great and I'm having a hard time narrowing down what I want to attend.

Tiny Camera


This isn't a toy. It is a real camera. It takes both photos and video. How fun would it be to have this hanging on your keychain?

Message in an Egg


Have you seen this message in a egg tutorial from Poppytalk? Opening this would be more fun than opening a fortune cookie.

Vintage Brass Locket


Loving the colorful design on this locket. Not only is it a great combination of colors, the design makes me happy.

Fluffy Biscuits


Everyone in our family gives these a double thumbs up. I like to sub out the shortening for butter. My husband snapped this photo last Sunday while I was cutting these out. They taste perfect warm from the oven with homemade strawberry freezer jam.

Pickle Jar Project

Love what the eighteen25 girls have done with pickle jars. Reminds me of the cool jars Jennie made last year.

King Triton's Carousel

While we were at California Adventure a couple of weeks ago, we rode King Triton's Carousel. I love carousels. There is just something magical about spinning with great mnusic play and kits laughing.

I rode next to Hannah and caught this photo of her while we were twirling around.


The chipboard banners from Fancy Pants are one of my favorite new products. Here I turned the banners on their sides to make little flags for the title.


Today was a busy day and I finished up all of the kits for Creative Estates. They are packed and ready to go! I did squeeze in a little time to make this layout, so it was a productive day. Now it's time to hang out with my husband. Maybe we will watch a movie? I'm really craving some ice cream, so we'll see if I can resist that. :)

Glitz Challenge and True Scrap

Scrappy Goods Giveaway!

I just received a big box from Northridge Publishing with a few things of mine they published plus a bunch of scrapbooking goodies.

Here's a look at my two cards that were in the February Cards Magazine.


I love that this card features that beautiful yellow flower made by Tessa.


And here's a frame that was published in Simply Handmade.


The magazines "pay" for published projects with scrapbooking goods which is pretty fun. But right now I have so many scrapbooking products, I just can't use them all. So my lose is your gain! I'd love to send a box full of scrapbooking stuff to one of my blog readers.

They sent lots of good stuff from Maya Road, Bo Bunny and My Little Shoebox. I'll throw in some of my stash too so that the box is really filled up!


Plus, I will put a copy of the February Cards and February/March Simply Handmade Magazines into the box.

One Little Word - March

In March, I continued to work on my one little word, Grow.


In the One Little Word Class taught by Ali Edwards at Big Picture Classes, she challenged each of us to chose an activity that would help us focus on our word.


My focus for the month was on growing my healthy habit of exercise. I decided that I wanted to run 24 miles in March and track my progress. I also went to the gym on other days for weight classes just to mix things up.


I met my goal and ran just over 27 miles in March. This is a pretty big deal for me because I haven't ever considered myself a runner. Really, I am more of a slow jogger, but at least I was out and moving!


Ali provides templates each month that are ready for printing and writing. I love how simple this project is because of those prompts.


My page for March is now complete. I'm looking forward to the April assignment that involves writing a letter to my future self.

Remember Me

The ferris wheel at California Adventure takes the typical ferris wheel to a whole new level. There are swinging cars on tracks that slide all around as the wheel moves. We decided that it was the scariest ride in the park.


This ride was so intimidating for our son that he got on the floor and yelled "remember me" as we were sliding to our certain death. We thought that was pretty funny and promised him that we would not have to ride that again.


Thankfully we all survived and didn't even have to use the throw up bag that was in the car. I'm pretty sure this is the only ride where I have seen a throw up bag right on the ride.

My son's favorite ride of the trip was California Screaming which is a roller coaster that loops upside down. So he does like some thrills, just a little closer to the ground.
