Project Life >>> May 2014 Part Two

Hello, hello!  It's been a while since I've worked on my Project Life album and it feels good to have another spread complete. May was such a great month filled with lots of events and I'm happy to have the highlights documented here.

I bought a few of the 4 X4 grid page protectors from October Afternoon and this is the first spread where I've used one of them. I love that it can hold so many photos! I think it may be my new favorite style of pocket page.

Lacrosse Banquet /// Audrey's Birthday /// Honors Assembly /// Math Award /// Babysitting Vincent /// Family Bowling /// Feed My Starving Children Volunteering

Memorial Day /// @ the Car Wash /// Pool Building /// Wedding Cake Tasting /// @ the Lake

Still loving this Project Life process because I'm able to document so many little bits and pieces of what is going on in our family.

Summer Fun!

Sometimes this summer I feel like a very un-fun mom. Does anyone else feel this way? There are lists of chores for the kids and lists of things I have to do each day. Between packing, shipping and ordering for Scrapbook Circle, working on the books for my husband's business, paying bills, grocery shopping, laundry and so much more, somedays I feel like I'm ignoring my kids and I went to do more with them. But looking back through the pictures from the past few weeks helped me realized that even though there has been a lot of work completed this summer, we've also had a lot of fun together.

4th of July Fun /// Free Sluprees @ 7-11 /// Bowling /// Dress Like a Cow and Get Free Food @ Chick-Fil-A /// Kristen and Doug's Wedding /// City Water Park with Cousins /// 4th of July Parade /// Wedding BBQ at our House /// Filling our Swimming Pool!!! /// Our Family at the Wedding

So far, summer has been a success. My goal is to keep the kids off of screens as much as possible and keep them moving and busy to productive and fun activities. Only two and a half weeks of summer break left until school starts. Time is going to fly by.

Project Life >>> July 7, 14 & 21

Just wanted to stop in today and share a few of my Project Life spreads from July. Thanks to this album, I feel like our summer is well documented.

Week of July 7, 2013. We finished up our Orlando trip this week with a visit to the Kennedy Space Center. We had about three hours there and felt pretty rushed. You could easily spend an entire day there.  We were home on Sunday night and then it was a pretty regular week.

Kennedy Space Center /// Free Slurpee Day @ 7-eleven /// Note from Max to Me /// Pantry /// Stitch Fix /// Tour at the Library with Gramie

Week of July 14, 2013. My sister Melanie and her family were here visiting from NC this week. WE has so much fun playing tourists with them and really enjoyed just being together.

Grand Canyon /// Swim @ the Hotel Pool /// Chipolte Lunch

Week of July 21, 2013. The highlight of this week was that my braces came off. Hooray! The kids had birthday parties and play dates and of course, chores! I put a Meet the Teacher night photo on this spread for some reason - it should go on the next week's spread. I may fix it and then you can see the photo again on the correct week.

Braces Coming Off /// Harry Potter Party Invite // Meet the Teacher /// Relaxing on the Couch/// Snow Party Invite /// Front Yard Cactus /// Bowling with Friends

There's a quick run down for you on a few of my July pages. Thanks for stopping by today!

Project Life >>> June 16 & June 23

Hello to more Project Life pages!

Week of June 16, 2013. We celebrated Father's Day and my MIL's birthday this week. Plus the kids and I are hooked on the t.v. show Once Upon a Time. We are limiting ourselves to one or two episodes a day to make it last longer.

Father's Day /// Hannah's Drawing /// Yoyo Class @ the Library /// Playing in "Barbieland"

Once Upon a Time /// Family Room Fort /// Gramie's Birthday /// New Pantry ///Scrapbook Night

Week of June 23, 2013. Audrey and 2 of her friends participated in a Les Mis summer camp this week and last week and they loved it! We listened to a lot of Les Miserable music this week.

We also attempted tie dyeing one afternoon and the kids ended up with great looking t-shirts. I love having the time to do fun project like this with the kids.

Project Life >>> June 2 & June 9

Hello! I'm excited to share a the weeks of June 2 and June 9 from my Project Life album today.

Week of June 2, 2013. This is the week we celebrated the last two days of school and we went on a three night getaway to Lake Havasu. As you can see from the photo, Lake Havasu was HOT. But we survived by keeping cool in the lake.

I also included a drawing with ideas for our new backyard pool. Even though this spread is from over 2 months ago, we really aren't any closer to deciding on a pool design. It's the cost vs. what we get that keeps holding us back. Hopefully I'll be able to show a finished pool on a PL spread sometime in the (hopefully) near future.

Backyard Picnic /// Hannah's Chore List /// Lake Havasu

More Lake Havasu /// Pool Ideas /// London Bridge

Week of June 9, 2013. Summer is here! This was our first full week of summer vacation.

This week included morning chore lists, time with friends, a painting class and an owl dropping off a letter letting the kids know that we were going to Hogwarts (aka Universal Orlando) over the 4th of July.

New Rug + Sandals /// Hannah's Oil Painting /// Chow Locally Box (included some cactus) /// Lunch /// Proof Bakery Croissants

Fun Summer Drawing by Audrey /// Playtimes with Friends /// Invite to Hogwarts /// Choir Summer Camp /// Yogurtland with Friends

We just loved our summer break! It went by so quickly, but I'm happy we were able to pack so much into our nine week break.

We Love the Beach

It was with a bit of sadness that we sent the kids back to school last week. The structure will be great with the school schedule and activities starting up again, but I've got to say that I just really loved the more relaxed routine of summer. One of my favorite things we did this summer was go to the beach for a day while we were in Florida.

Spending the day relaxing in the sunshine and then cooling off in the water is near perfect to me. Our kids are a bit older now and can all splash around independently without me having to worry about them falling face first into the water every second. We rented boogie boards and a surf board and everyone had a grand time.

We drove from Orlando to Cocoa Beach and it was pouring rain on our drive. It was so bad at one point that we couldn't even see out of the windshield. We weren't so sure that we had chosen the best day to do to the beach.  But as you can see from the picture, it was bright and sunny  at the beach. Not one drop of rain and not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful day!

Yoyo Class >>> Glitz Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to this month's Glitz Designs blog hop.

Today I'd love to share a layout with you that I created with the Color Me Happy line. Seriously still loving this line's bright and happy colors!

One of my favorite things to use on layouts are 6 X 6 paper pads. I don't seem to mind cutting up those little papers and using a lot of different patterns on my page. Cutting into 12 X 12 paper is harder because I feel like I should save it to be a background on a page. Do you ever feel like that?

Summer Fun!

One of my favorite things to do in the summer to go to the beach. We live closest to California beaches, so that is where we have spent most of our beach time. A couple of weeks ago we got to go to the beach for a day while we were in Florida. Wow, the water was actually warm and I didn't mind getting in the water! I must say the East Coast beaches win by having a much more tolerable swimming temperature!

We spent the day playing on boogie boards, some tried out surfing and we relaxed in the sand.

Such a beautiful day at the beach! Now we are back in the 115 degree heat in AZ and we have the AC running almost non-stop. I'll just have to look at these photos and remember a time when I wasn't melting while being outside.

This week over on the Glitz blog, the design team is sharing lots of Summer Fun layouts. Stop by for some fun summer inspiration.

Summer Backyard Party

This month Scrapbook Circle has put together a fabulous party themed kit that includes a bunch of fun pieces that you can use to throw a party. The Let's Celebrate! Kit includes banners, patterned straws, tutu ribbon, decorative treat bags, pinwheel stickers, a 6 X 6 paper pad, paper tapes plus a fabulous printable.

I decided to put the kit to good use and throw a little backyard party tonight with some friends. We set up a table in our backyard and had fun putting everything together.

Here's a look at our backyard party table.

If you'd like to see more pictures and details on the party, you can stop by the Scrapbook Circle blog where I shared more about the party.

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life: July 8 - 15

In July, our family was lucky enough to attend a family reunion at Lake Tahoe. This was a perfect vacation destination. The five of us headed up to Tahoe a few days before the reunion and put in a lot of play time before the rest of the family arrived.

Although I've done a few layouts with Tahoe photos, I also wanted to document our week in our Project Life album.  Here's a look of the spread from our vacation week.

The Tahoe water is so beautiful and blue and I wanted that color to shine on this spread. I focused on a lot of photos with the water.

I kept the use of embellishments really simple this week so the focus would be on the photos + words.  There are a few kayaking photos because we rented kayaks three different times during the week. It was so great being out on the water. We also met up with some friends from AZ for a day since we were both at the lake the same day. One day we went to the beach and actually swam around in the cold water. The water is so clear that you can see down to the bottom when the water is really deep.

While we were there, my husband, sisters, brother and dad all went parasailing. It really was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to go with all of them. I thought it might be terrifying, but it felt totally safe and we loved the views from way up above the water. We also did some rafting, boating and mini golfing that week.

The final two days of the vacation were spent at our family reunion. I used an insert for those photos which included the name tags we wore that designated which part of the family we were from.

One of my favorite parts of the reunion was seeing my kids getting to know my cousins' kids.  The kids were a little shy at first, but then they warmed up and really had so much fun together. We had a great time being with our family.

I'm happy to have another week in 2012 documented and on the books!
