Hair Feathers

Are hair feathers the new exciting thing to add to your hair where you live? "Everyone" in my daughter's 6th grade class is getting hair feathers and I think they look pretty fun.

Last week I took Audrey and two of her friends to have feathers put in their hair. The longest part of the process was choosing which feather to use. The feathers just get clamped into the hair. Supposedly the feathers will stay up to 6 months and you can wash, curl, flat iron the feathers just like regular hair.

5th Anniversary Kit Peek

I Want a Hot Cup of Cocoa

In December, our kids learned a song to a really catchy tune about a hot cup of cocoa. When I took these photos of my daughter and her friend, I couldn't help but sing the "Hot Cocoa" song in my head.


I thought the first line of the song would be a perfect title for this page using 2 of the alpha stickers from this page:


This sticker sheet from Echo Park was one of my must have items for a kit when we went to CHA. Just look at the 4 different fonts plus all of those small words. Love it!


I also used the journaling oval from the free Scrapbook Circle Valentine printable plus some pieces from the upcoming March printable too.

Butterfly Boots

Yesterday, my daughter wore her bright blue butterfly boots with her school uniform to school. The kids have to wear a red, white or blue polo with tan or denim shorts/pants. I must say that I love the uniforms because the kids always look put together. They are allowed to wear whatever closed-toe shoes they want to school, so Hannah likes to wear her boots.

After school yesterday, I had to get some photos of her in her boots. She was more than happy to have me take some pictures of her especially since it was for a scrapbook layout.


When I pulled out the bright yellow pokla dot paper from the upcoming Happy Days February Scrapbook Circle kit, I knew it was a perfect match for the bright blue boots.


On another note, did you see the peek of one of the new lines from Fancy Pants today?


I've already done two layouts with this line and can't wait to share them with you!

Creative Time

With the busy holidays now behind me, I was able to carve out some creative time yesterday. I have missed creating layouts!

I pulled out my All You Need is Love Scrapbook Circle Kit and put together two layouts.

My first layout is about our sledding adventure last weekend. It's always fun for us take our annual trip to see snow!



My second layout uses a fun shadow photo I took of our family while we were playing at the park a couple of months ago.

Can't wait to do more creating with this kit!

Fabulous Fall

This afternoon I has some fun creating with a 7 Gypsies Receipt Holder and the Scrapbook Circle November Kit.


One of my favorite things about working with kits is that it takes so much time out of the project. With everything already coordinated and sitting in front of me, it took under two hours to put this together.


My favorite part of this project is the banner. I used bakers twine for the string and laid out all of the little pennant stickers. I did keep the backing on the stickers so that they can hang free and not stick to things. To attach the stickers to a string, I set the string out on my table and used a little glossy accents on each banner sticker to glue the sting and stickers together.


I've loving the corrugated shapes from Jillibean Soup in the kit. I used Glimmer Mist on a couple and layered them up with some burlap for an embellishment.


This receipt holder is really cool because you don't have to glue the paper to the board. The clips just hold the papers in place. This makes it easy to switch out elements for different seasons or you could just change out photos each year.

Birthday Seaon

Hello! It's been a busy week around here. We've been busy celebrating two of my kids' birthdays this weekend. We're not finished celebrating yet, either. Tomorrow we have a bowling party planned for the two kids and a bunch of their friends Should be really fun!

We've also celebrated two of my sister's birthdays this weekend. It's definitely birthday season around here! Here's a look at a card I made for one of my sisters.I used the Scrapbook Circle Oct. Kit for this. Love that paper flower from one of the Scrapbook Circle design team ladies, Diana. Her etsy site has a lot of fun stuff. I love adding unique items like that flower to the kit.

Favorite Disney Rides

Today I finally has a little time to create with the upcoming October Scrapbook Circle kit. The bright colors from the Glitz Scarlett papers were so fun to work with. Plus, I really like the contrast of the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology white paper and artisan elements. One of my favorite things about this layout is the number rub-ons I put across the top of the photos. Such a cheery set of scrapbooking goods. Everything on this page came from the kit. Fun way to document our favorite rides at Disneyland.

Happiness is When...

...We are with our Cousins.

Last month we we able to spend time with my sister's family while they were visiting Arizona from North Carolina. They are my kids' only cousins, so we love to get together with them.

While we were altogether we did a fun photo shoot with a photographer, Andrea. She captured this fun photo of the cousins and I knew I wanted to use it on a layout.
I used the Scrapbook Circle September kit for this layout. Product from Crate, Sassafras, Cosmo Cricket and Elle's Studio are on this page.Really loving the doilies paper from Crate. Here I cut out some of the doilies and spread them around the paper.

Hope to have more creative time with this kit soon!

You Can Fly!

A few weeks ago I took these photos of my girls' on a swing ride at a local carnival. I played around with some Pioneer Women actions (you can visit this link and download FREE actions!) and House of 3 frames (you can visit this link for a fabulous tutorial on adding the frames to your photos.) After finishing the photos edits, I printed out the photos.Once the photos were printed, I pulled out my Scrapbook Circle April kit to see what I could put together. It was a lot of fun putting this layout together.I love how the Dear Lizzy and October Afternoon papers go so well together. Love the combo of the bright and happy patterns.Thanks to Sketchy Thursdays for this sketch because it was the starting point for the layout.Hope you are having a great evening!

Super Max

As soon as I took this photo, I knew something needed to be created with it.Yesterday I had some time to play with the March Scrapbook Circle kit and I used this photo for this layout.I love the new Jenni Bowlin banner stickers and bingo letters. So fun!

The red lines were red paint stamped using corrugated cardboard. I wrote an article for CK online last year using this painting technique. You can check it out HERE is you want to see more painted line examples.Can't wait to get some more playtime with this kit!

My First Sketchy Thursdays Layout

When I saw the sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays this weekend I knew that I wanted to use it to create a layout.

Here's the cool layout that Diana put together:

The patterned paper, pops flowers stickers, Elle's Studio labels, flower bling and alpha are all from the Scrapbook Circle January kit.

The semi-circle is the reverse side of the border of the Pink Paislee Reindeer Games paper. It was red on the reverse side, but the blank white side on the reverse made a fun addition to the page.

I also dusted off an old Heidi Swapp flower mask to help create the background along with a little misting.

I really don't ever use sketches when I'm creating layouts, but I really like how this turned out!

Loving the Lily Bee

Our September Scrapbook Circle kit includes all of the paper from the new Lily Bee Vintage Poppy line. This paper is so beautiful. All 6 sheets are double-sided with lovely patterns are included in the kit.

I was able to squeeze in a little creative time today to play with the September kit and this is what I can up with.The patterned paper is all from Lily Bee including that great round die cut. The buttons, memo card, label stickers and alpha are also from the kit.

Hope I get some more playtime soon!
