Playing with Marbles

Happy Thursday! Today I want to share a layout celebrating a moment when two of our kids were happily playing and imagining together. Thankfully they just kept playing while I snapped a few photos of them playing marbles on our family room floor.

These photos were taken at night and the lighting is pretty poor for photo taking in our family room, so needless to say, they weren't the best photos. To remedy the photo issue, I changed them to black and white and they were then useable pictures.  Plus with the bright yellow background, I liked the contrast with the black and white photos.

This layout is up on the Glitz Designs blog today featuring the giant rhinestones. I love this embellishment!  They are slightly dimensional and come with a cool variety of designs. Love that. On this page, I misted the page and then placed the rhinestones so they were scattered along with the mist.

Thanks for the visit today!

Project Life >>> August 3 - 10

It's another great day for sharing a couple of Project Life pages. A few weeks ago I was current on my PL spreads and now, guess what? I'm behind again. That's totally fine because I've found that I work best on this project in spurts and can get a few spread done in a couple of days once I'm in the flow.

Here's a look at the beginning of August which included the first day of school.

I still love this project!

Taco Night with Friends /// Piano Practice /// Carpool /// Stitch Fix

It was a pretty low photo week, but I was still able to fill in the pockets. I love that this gives me a place to journal and share little pieces of our everyday family life.

Happy, Happy Birthday!

It's birthday week around here this week. Two of my sisters have birthdays plus Hannah is turning 9. Since both of my sisters live across the country, I had to be organized and get presents off in the mail early.

I'm usually not a big card maker, so I was proud of myself for actually making cards for both of my sisters.  I went a little crazy cutting out triangles on this first card and had fun arranging them as the background design.

Card supplies: Paper + Washi: Glitz Finnley Collection, Wood Cut out: Scrapbook Circle So Happy Together Kit.)

For my second card, I had fun playing with big triangles, stars and some sewing.

(Card supplies: Scrapbook Circle Photo Goes Here Kit.)

Now I just need to do some birthday planning and shopping for Hannah. Luckily she has a wish list that includes art stuff and a Barbie set, so shopping should be finished up pretty easily.

Glitz Designs Wild & Free Blog Hop

Have you seen the new Glitz Designs Wild & Free line? I'm loving all of the patterns and colors in this line. Today the Glitz Design Team is doing a blog hop featuring this fantastic new line.

I had a lot of fun putting this birthday card together. I used mists to color in little sections on the Whatnot card plus some stitching along the side.

This line is so perfect for so many different occasions and topics. I can't wait to use it again soon on another project!

Want to join in the blog hop? Just visit the design team blogs and leave a comment on each blog. Each comment is an entry to win a fabulous Glitz Design Wild & Free prize pack. Cool!

So Happy Together

I'm so excited to share that the October Scrapbook Circle kit, So Happy Together, went live tonight. There are so many bits and pieces in it that I love. The most exciting part about this kit is that there are some cool new products that we had made just for the kit!

We are introducing stamps and wood shapes in this month's kit. I sketched out the ideas, had our graphic designer make them pretty and then had them manufactured.

This set of wood shape will be perfect on layouts and cards. I'm also planning on using some pieces in my Project Life album.

I'm loving this 1 X 6 inch stamp set. The triangle pattern and plan on using it over and over on projects. I just can't seem to use enough triangles lately.

Besides the wood and stamps, there is also the custom printable and tag set that comes with every kit. I love that these kits offer things that you can't find anywhere else. What do you think? Are you excited too? Stop by the Scrapbook Circle site to get a look at more photos and the full list of everything in the kit.

Project Life >>> August 25 - 31, 2013

Hello! I love Mondays. It's a fresh and new week filled with time to accomplish things. Love that. Today I want to share a Project Life spread that I put together using the Photo Goes Here kit. I put this kit together with lots of tags and little things that would work well for projects like this.

This week we had some school successes (100% on a math test! Yippee!) plus a family getaway to the pines in Flagstaff for Labor Day weekend. Some of that trip spilled over onto next week's pages, but I included the first two days of our trip here.

Mathematician /// Webelos Award /// @ the Art Fair in Flagstaff /// Audrey Styling Cousin Katie's Hair

Art Masterpiece /// School Project /// Fun in Flagstaff

I also included an insert on this spread that includes the 100% math test and another fun piece of school work. This is the perfect place to store these things.

Yes, I still love Project Life! I'm not creating quite as many layouts, but I think this is helping tell a more full story about what goes on around here every week.

Happy Monday to you!

In the Mood for Fall

This week on the Glitz blog we were asked to create a fall themed layout. With temperatures still over 100 degrees everyday here in AZ, I knew that I would have to look into last year's photos to find some fall inspiration! Hoping some cooler weather is just around the corner.

I decided to focus on a few of my favorite pictures that were taken during our fall break last school year when were were able to spend a few days in NYC with friends. Man, I love NYC. Feeling lucky that we got to spend some time there.

The photos were not taken the same time/day, but focused on a few of our favorite things we did while on vacation. I made sure that each of the photos included a photo of one of your kids. Just keeping things equal around here!

Have I mentioned how much I love using the Glitz Roller Doodles? It's seriously so fun getting to roll ink all around on a page!

The "fall" in the title was created with my Silhouette + my handwriting. Last year, I created this layout with fall in the title and thankfully, I'd saved my file and it was ready to use again on this page.

Want to take a look at all of our adventures while we were in NYC last fall?  You can check out these posts.
