CHA Recap

I arrived home last night after a fantastic 3 days spent in LA at the Craft and Hobby Trade show. My amazing friends Jennie and Diana joined me and we were able to plan out and order for several Scrapbook Circle kits.

On the first day of our trip we flew in and went to a banner class taught by Jenni Bowlin. We made a really cute house banner and I'll have to post a picture later when I finish up the project.

That night we had some free time so we went as saw Prada to Nada, a movie based on Sense and Sensibility. Fun girls night out movie! We ever even given lip gloss and nail files as we left the movie.

The next morning the CHA floors opened and we were off! It was fun to see my layout up in the Fancy Pants booth.

For lunch, we meet up with 2 of the other Scrapbook Circle design team girls, Julie and Lisa. It was so great to meet them since we've been working together for months.

That night we stayed up late pouring over catalogs and all of the paper samples we had collected throughout the day.

The next day, we turned in all 20 orders and then meet up with another Scrapbook Circle design team member, Heather. So fun!

Here's a look at some of the the things I saw at the trade show. It really is exciting being around so many creative and kind people.

Thanks to Diana and Jennie for another great CHA adventure! Already looking forward to our next CHA trip!

It's the Little Things

My favorite new line from Fancy Pants this show it "It's the Little Things." Of course, all of the lines are great to work with, but I really love the neutral color palette and basic designs on this line. It works so well for so many different occasions.

See the big, white circle paper filter? These are so fun to work with! They mist really well, but here I just left it white. They add a cool transparent element to the page.

I've been waiting to use this photo of my kids in Central Park and when I saw this paper, I knew they would go well together. The sun shining is this photo is so bright and happy!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Fun Finds Friday #2

I'm here with my second edition of Fun Friday Finds. It's my plan to share a few fun finds from my week with you every Friday.

This week I decided to focus on Valentine themed ideas. There are so many creative ideas, it's hard to narrow down my favorites.

Check out these necklaces made with gumballs. I think you could make cute bracelets using the same idea.

This next projects uses two of my favorite things: Photos and Paper. Isn't this Photo Heart Banner so cool?

These Sweetheart Dice would be fun to use at a Valentine party.

My friend, Tessa, has an Etsy shop where she share the most beautiful handmade flowers. Just look at this February Sampler she has up in her shop. Love it!

My last share today isn't just a Valentine thing, but I couldn't resist sharing. Have you heard on Magic Milk Straws? I need to try these out.

You just put the straw in a cup of milk and then the milk is flavored as it flows through the straw. The pink strawberry straws would be a fun addition to a Valentine party. I don't really like to drink milk, but these might make it more appetizing.

Only a couple more hours until I catch my flight to LA. Looking forward to a weekend filled with paper, stickers and friends!

Heading to CHA...

Yeah! This week has been great because I get to share all of the layouts I worked on earlier this month with Fancy Pant's new release lines.

Today is sneak peek day for the new Beach Bum line. It's great to have a line with some boy colors and patterns.

I think my favorite thing in this line in the pack of die cut journaling cards!

I'm so excited...just checked in my for flight to LA tomorrow. Can't wait to get to CHA and see all of the new scrapbook products in person!

awesome

Happy Wednesday to you!

Just wanted to stop in and share a layout with you today. It's using the new "It's the Little Things" line from Fancy Pants plus one of their new filter papers.

I'm really excited to get to play more with the filter papers. They have the texture of a coffee filter and they are perfect for misting. They all come in white so that it's easy to customize. Very cool.

On this page I misted the filter paper and then accordion folded it and tucked it behind my photo.

You can check out more Fancy Pants elements ideas here.

What are you up to today? I'm home all day today and have a list of things to check off. Tonight we are going to the Suns game. Two of our kids are singing the National Anthem with the Chandler Children's Choir. So excited about it!

Ski Trip

Today I feel like I'm getting back into the swing of things. We did a weekend getaway with two other families this past weekend for a ski trip. Yes, we do have snow in AZ. We just have to drive 3 hours to get somewhere to ski.

This was the first time for my kids and husband to ski and I hadn't been in 20+ years, so it was quite an adventure. We all came back uninjured, so goal #1 was reached!

We had a really great time and hope to be able to go again next year.

We rented a house for the weekend and I loved sitting around this beautiful fireplace.

And sipping hot chocolate...

I love going away for the weekend. It's such a great way to spend time together as a family and I feel refreshed and ready for all of the regular weekly tasks once we return.

I'll leave to you a layout I created with the Scrapbook Circle Happy Days Kit. Can't wait to squeeze in a little more create time this week!

Sunshine Sweetie & Hula Girl

I've been having such a great time designing with the new Fancy Pants lines. I'm loving the color combos and all of the little bits and pieces they have to go with each line.

Today on the Fancy Pants blog, they are showing a bunch of layouts using the new Beach Babe line. Be sure to stop by and see all of the fun creations.

Plus, have you seen the new artisan elements peek? Wow! I can't wait to get to play with all of this!

Butterfly Boots

Yesterday, my daughter wore her bright blue butterfly boots with her school uniform to school. The kids have to wear a red, white or blue polo with tan or denim shorts/pants. I must say that I love the uniforms because the kids always look put together. They are allowed to wear whatever closed-toe shoes they want to school, so Hannah likes to wear her boots.

After school yesterday, I had to get some photos of her in her boots. She was more than happy to have me take some pictures of her especially since it was for a scrapbook layout.

When I pulled out the bright yellow pokla dot paper from the upcoming Happy Days February Scrapbook Circle kit, I knew it was a perfect match for the bright blue boots.

On another note, did you see the peek of one of the new lines from Fancy Pants today?

I've already done two layouts with this line and can't wait to share them with you!

Happy Weekend!

Hello and I hope you are having a happy weekend!

I've been very busy creating lots of layouts this week for the upcoming CHA trade show. I can't wait to show you what I've been creating with! Hopefully I will be able to share soon.

There are a couple of things that I do want to share today.

The first is a layout using the Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate line about our visit to the Statue of Liberty last fall.

Even though this line is a winter themed line, I thought it worked out well for this layout because of the patriotic colors and the star designs.

Last night we got to celebrate our friends' one year old's birthday. It was so fun watching him dig into his cake while attempting to keep hims hands clean!

Here's a look at the birthday card I made for the party.

Have you seen this fun book, Tickle Monster?

This was a present we gave to the sweet one year old. It's a cute book that comes with Tickle gloves that can be used through out the story. Pretty fun!

Valentine Finds

I love Valentine's Day. I've seen several cool Valentine ideas and projects and thought I'd share a few fun finds with you.

Venn Valentine Letterpress Card

Valentine Subway Art from eighteen25

This is a free download. I'm still deciding which version I want to print. I'll print it at Costco as a 16 X 20 inch poster.

Red Heart Paper Straws

How cool are these paper straws? I think they would be a perfect addition to any Valentine party and could make an after school drink extra special.

Valentine Poster by Beth Proudfoot

This is another free download. Be sure to visit Beth's blog because she shares several clever ways to use this printable.

Lovebug Cupcake Wrapper

Why not make a cupcake a little sweeter with this cupcake liners?

That's all for today, but I'll be on the lookout for more fun and clever Valentine Finds.

Having a Happy Birthday

Today I've been celebrating one of my sister's birthdays with visits to a couple of favorite restaurants and a little shopping. It's been a really fun day!

Since I'm celebrating my sister's birthday, I thought I share a birthday card I recently made for one of my kids to give to a friend at a party.

I used the Scrapbook Circle All You Need is Love Kit plus a card from this adorable set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Photos of Food

I love taking pictures of my food. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this? I seem to especially take food photos when I'm on vacation. I think that I just want to be able to capture everything from my vacation and food is usually a very enjoyable part of traveling.

While our family was visiting Boston last October, we heard about Clear Flour Bread and we were told that we must make a stop there.

We went and waited outside in the cold in a pretty long line just to try out the fresh baked daily bread and pastries. It was definitely worth the wait! Just look at that beautiful sunflower bread. Amazing!

Last November I had the chance to go to New Orleans with my husband and so friends. We had heard that we had to have beignets at Cafe du Monde. So we did. Three different times.

Just in case you don't know (because I didn't know) beignets and square French style doughnuts served piping hot and drenched in powdered sugar. Delicious!

Creative Time

With the busy holidays now behind me, I was able to carve out some creative time yesterday. I have missed creating layouts!

I pulled out my All You Need is Love Scrapbook Circle Kit and put together two layouts.

My first layout is about our sledding adventure last weekend. It's always fun for us take our annual trip to see snow!

My second layout uses a fun shadow photo I took of our family while we were playing at the park a couple of months ago.

Can't wait to do more creating with this kit!
