Let's Ride

The blue woodgrain paper from Bella Blvd is probably my favorite paper in the April Hello, Sunshine Kit at Scrapbook Circle. I just love the bright color and design. But then again, I do love all of the paper in that kit!

This layout is about our family riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland. My kids were all delighted that their grandparents were going on this ride with them. My daughter kept turning around to look back and check on them!

This ride was always my favorite as a kid. Have you been to Disneyland? Do you have a favorite ride?

The Party Dress Magazine

I just came across an online magazine that is so full of great party ideas and eye candy, so I thought I'd stop in and share it with you.

This magazine is a free & you read it online. (Just click the photo in the upper left column to view the magazine.)

This idea for filling vases with peeps or jellybeans for Easter was so clever and easy.

Loving the bright colors of this spring party.

Now I feel like I want to throw a party!

Loving the Fancy Pants Element Stickers

This month my blog assignment for Fancy Pants was to create something using one of their element stickers sheets on a layout. Stickers have become one of my favorite embellishment lately because they are so easy to use and be layered for fun results.

I decided to use the It's the Little Things line and make a layout about my daughter and her friend.

Here's a peek at my layout. I ended up using 9 of the stickers for this layout. You can see the entire layout here.

What you do think about stickers? Tried of them or love them?

Happy Moments

While we were at Disneyland last week, we spent a lot of time standing in line. What better thing to do as a kid that bug your brother or sister while in line? Ha! In a rare line-waiting moment, my youngest two kids were happily playing together and we even caught the moment on the camera.

Wouldn't it be great if siblings always got along so well?

Even if they don't get along all of the time, I will enjoy the happy moments when they are enjoying time together.

All of the layout supplies are from the April Hello, Sunshine Kit at Scrapbook Circle. I had a great time creating with that kit today and finished up four layouts. Got to love a day full of creating!

Spring Break is Coming to an End

Today was the last day of day of my kids' 2.5 week spring break. Although it has been nice to not have a strict schedule to follow, I am really looking forward to getting back into our weekly routine tomorrow. First on my agenda tomorrow...scrapbook layouts! I printed out around 30 pictures today and I'm ready to get to work!

Last weekend we surprised our kids with a trip to Disneyland. I've got to say that the trip is as much for the kids as it is for me. I love that place!

We booked our trip about 2 weeks ago and it was fun keeping it a secret from the kids. We did a scavenger hunt a couple of days before we left to let them know we were going! One of my sisters heard about the trip and asked it she could join us. Then my parents asked if we would mind if they joined us too. So we ended up having quite a group. Good times and great memories!

(I used this House of 3 template for my photo collage and then added a digital frame from my collection around the photos.)

Fun Finds Friday #8

Happy Friday to you!

I hope that you have had an enjoyable week. Fridays are the day I like to share things I've found during the week, so here are a few of my favorite finds...

Melissa Zig Zag Shoes

These shoes had good reviews on a few sites I checked out, but mostly I just love that they are glittered!

Nutella Chip Cookies by The Ivory Hut

What's not to love? A chocolate chip cookie made with homemade Nutella Chips. I need to give this recipes a try very soon.

Pretty Cupcake Liners

It may sounds odd, but I like to buy (and use) pretty cupcake liners. Etsy is my favorite place to find unique liners. Loving this glass jar filled with cupcake liners because it's both pretty and functional.

Milk, Sugar, Butter

Cool simple design. I don't think I'd store my milk in this container, but it would be fun to set out for a special breakfast.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thankful Thought No.2

Thanks again to Ali Edwards for the Thankful Thought prompt.

This week I'm thankful for extra time spent with my family. We've been enjoying Spring Break together.

We spent sometime at a nearby park that opened last year. The city turned a filled dump into a park by covering the dump and creating a beautiful desert park right on top of it. The park has a large playground, archery targets and a disc golf course. Here's the family playing some disc golf.

Cake or Frosting?

Which is your favorite...the cake or the frosting? For me, it's definitely the frosting.

Today my daughter and her friend made cupcakes. (We are on week 2 of our 2.5 week Spring Break!) They wanted to use canned frosting, but that just didn't sound good to me, so we looked up a chocolate frosting recipe.

We used this recipe as a starting point, but modified it a bit and I've got to say that it was some of the best chocolate frosting I've had.

Here's what we put in our frosting:

1 stick of butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
Just under 1/2 cup of milk

This frosted 18 cupcakes with a thick layer of frosting.

Mix everything together and enjoy!

Splash!

Even though today was a rainy and gray day, I decided to create a sunny layout.

I used one of my favorite photos from my daughter's tenth birthday last summer with a few of the girls jumping into the pool.

Since I can't seem to get enough banners on my projects lately, I was excited to see a full chipboard set from Fancy Pants Beach Babe line with all different shape of banners.

Are you enjoying sunny weather where you are?

Pocket Full of Sunshine Project

Yesterday my husband and I spend most of the day filming a make-n-take video for the True Scrap Online Event that is coming up in a couple of weeks. We had such a great time, we've decided that we want to make more videos to share with the Scrapbook Circle community.

Today, I would like to share a few peeks of the make-n-take. The project is called "Pocket Full of Sunshine" and I'm very excited to share several techniques and show how to put the base of this little book together in our make-n-take video.

Our video alone is 20 minutes full of information. So with 12 speakers and 4 other make-n-takes, you will be getting so much information and inspiration with this event. Seriously so excited about this.

Have you signed up for True Scrap? Are you thinking about it?

P.S. This project uses our upcoming April Kit. Are you excited about it?

Fun Finds Friday #7

Another Friday is already here. I've come across so many things I want to share with you today, so let's get started.

Loving this bracelet. Plus, if you want 20% off your order this month at this etsy shop, you can use the code "ucreate20" at checkout.

I came across two different hummus recipes I want to try. The first is this avocado hummus.

The other is this Red Pepper Hummus.

Where was this shoe growth chart idea 10 years ago? The little shoes are now gone at our house, but hopefully you have some so you can use to recreate this fun growth chart.

I've been on the lookout for a camera bag for quite sometime. It's just hard to find the right one at the right price. This Any Bag Camera Bag might be my solution. It's a camera bag that you slip into any other bag you already have. It gives the padding needed for the camera's safety, but allows some flexibility and it's a less expensive option than most camera bags I've seen.

I've loved all of the other eighteen25 holiday posters and this FREE download for a birthday is no exception. They even offer two color combos. I just download the file and then upload it to Costco. I like to order the 16 x 20 poster for only $5.99. A quick and inexpensive way to add a festive touch to a room.

This Leprechaun Rainbow Cake from NotMartha is very cool. I really need to make this sometime. Maybe next year for St. Patrick's Day? Or maybe sooner. I just need a few extra hours and a lot of patience!

Hope you've had a wonderful week and you have a nice weekend ahead of you. Any fun plans for the weekend?

Celebrating Together

We enjoy celebrating holidays with small family traditions. I think it's important to celebrate together as a family because it creates strong bonds and special memories.

One of our traditions for celebrating New Year's Eve is that our family drives a couple hours north and we stay in a hotel for a couple of nights. This is always a relaxing time that we all look forward to after participating in many Christmas activities.

This year, we lit up sparklers at midnight to celebrate the new year. I think this was the first year that all three of our kids made it until midnight!

The Glitz Hoopla line was perfect for this page with the party and celebrate sentiments used throughout this line. Just what I was looking for to create a playful, party feel.

Another holiday tradition we have is that grandma brings delicious Valentine sugar cookies each year for Valentine's Day. This is one tradition that our entire family looks forward to!

I created the doily background by placing a paper doily on the background paper and misted over the top of it. When the doily was lifted, it left a cool design behind.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing a couple of my favorite holiday traditions with me today!

Lisa

Working on...

Today I'm working on my class project for Creative Estates. Things are coming together and I'm really excited about this project.
It's a fold out house/display/mini album. I'll show more photos once it's finished.

Hope you are having a great St. Patrick's Day!

To the Moon!

I've been having a lot of fun with the Fancy Pants To the Moon collection. The bright colors are so happy and playful!

Fancy Pants and Tombow teamed up for a blog hop this week and I made a couple of projects for it.

The first is a layout where I used Tombow Foam Tabs to create a fun textured background on this page.

I didn't want to waste a second piece of the paper by punching it, so I figured out where I wanted my photos and then cut the yellow paper out where the photos would cover it.

So only one piece of yellow paper was used!

My second project was a birthday card where I folded the back of the card over the front and closed it with a Tombow Fastener Tab.

The adhesive is a very strong and then works like Velcro so that it can open and close over and over. I definitely want to think of more open and close projects so that I can use more of this!

Fancy Pants posted these projects on their blog today and you can stop by and take a look if you'd like.

Hope you are having a fantastic Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Tag

Last Saturday I was about to leave to take my son to a birthday party and I realized that we needed a card for the gift. I quickly went to my scrapbook room to make one in the 10 minutes we had before we needed to leave.

I pulled out my Fancy Pants To the Moon products and quickly put this tag together that we could tie to the gift bag. The bright colors and playful robot were a great combination for a fun birthday tag.

Do you make cards for your kids to give to friends for birthdays? I like to because it helps me use up my stash, but I try to not spend much time on it since it will probably end up being thrown away.

Boston

***If you are looking for the Scrapbook Circle Kit Giveaway post, you can go here.***

Last fall we were able to take a trip to Boston to visit friends. We had such a great time! We loved walking on the Freedom Trail where we visited many historical sites plus and an amazing bakery (Mike's Pastry) was one of the stops.

I printed off a few of my favorite photos from the trip in my favorite 2 x 3 inch size. I love this size because I can easily fit more pictures on the page.

Everything on this layout is from the new Fancy Pants It's the Little Things line for this page. The colors in the line make me happy. Also loving those round filter papers that I misted to match the page.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Thankful Thought No.1

Yesterday, Ali Edwards posted a Thankful Thought and I was inspired to do the same.

Today I am thankful for my parents. For their example. For their support. Thank you for all you do for me and our family.

Fun Finds Friday #6

***If you are looking for the Scrapbook Circle Kit Giveaway post, you can go here.***

It's already another Friday and I have a few favorite finds from the past week to share with you.

These Sweet, Salty, Chewy, Crunchy Brownies look quite delicious. Usually, I prefer a simple rich brownie, but these could be worth a try.

This lovey St. Patrick's Day Banner created by Rebecca Cooper caught my eye. Love the simplicity of the design.

Are you having a St. Patrick's Day Party? These cute cupcake toppers would be a quick way to dress up cupcakes. Check out this link for a free cupcake topper printable.

These cake stands are beautiful. The colors and design details would add a perfect touch to a special dessert.

What do you think of this fish house? I thought it was pretty funny. It would be a nice conversation piece.

Hope you have a great weekend!
