While the boys were off at a soccer game today, the girls decided to do some shopping around NYC!
We started of at the American Girl Store where we had Kit's ears pierced and did some exploring of the store. The three story store was packed. Whoever invented American Girls dolls would have been happy to see that store today.
A few months ago I read about Tinsel Trading Company on Debbie Schuh's blog and added it as a place to visit while here in NYC. Today was the day that we scouted out the store. It was full of little trinkets and vintage items plus loads of premium ribbon. I handed my daughter the camera to take photos so that she would be busy while I took a look around the store. Here are a couple of my (blurry) favorites.
And here's my little one holding up the number 6 since she just turned six last week.I didn't even buy anything because I couldn't bring myself to spending $18 on a small jar of buttons or $45 on a small pack on vintage goods. The whole store was eye candy and I'm happy we made the stop.
My favorite store of the day was Fishs Eddys. This was an amazing store packed with things for the kitchen. I really wanted to get one of these cake stands, but I didn't want to take any chances of it breaking on our trip home, so I'll just have to remember them by looking at this photo.
I did pick up a few of these little 1 ounce nut bowls. I have a weakness for bowls and just couldn't resist these in a bunch of different colors. We also visited Chinatown where we found some cute crochet headband wraps and hats. For some reason I forgot to take any pictures while we were there.
Plus, we made a stop at Paper Source. I found some cool paper Halloween lanterns that I plan on hanging up in our kitchen.
Fun day this lots of walking and exploring. Thanks to my sister for helping me find all of these (and more) places to shop.
