Thanksgiving, Relaxing and a Sale

My mom asked my kids to make these cute cookie turkeys for the plates at Thanksgiving dinner. They did these all by themselves on Wednesday night. Nice work, kids!

I hope you've been having a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. Today it was just the five at us at home. We slept in, went on a bike ride, played at the park and picked up pizza for dinner. Here's one picture I took while we were at the park.

No crazy shopping for me today. I may have missed out on some deals, but I didn't see anything we needed in the ads, so I stayed home.

I wanted to let you know that Scrapbook Circle is having a sale on the few past kits we have left. The sale started yesterday and we now only have a handful of one kit left. It's a fun Christmas filled kit and you can check it out here.

Thankful Bottles, Albums and a Cool Poster

Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I did all of my grocery shopping last night and I'm hoping I didn't forget anything!

I've been busy crafting lately, but I haven't done a great job with taking photos.

One project I've been working on with a friend is a set of seven albums for the teenage girls at church. They are doing a "Be Your Own Kinds of Beautiful" program next week and these will be given to the girls at the end of the night.

I didn't take a photo of the finished albums, but here's a look at them mid-project.

I did a really quick project for the 9 year old girls I teach at church. We had a lesson on being grateful, so I gave each girl a jar they could use to hold slips of paper where they write things they are grateful for. (Sorry for the camera phone photo!)

A couple of days ago I came across this cool Christmas subway sign. Guess what? You can download and print it for free HERE.

I downloaded this print and ordered a poster from Costco. Such a quick and simple decoration!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!

Mail and a Class

My newphew has a birthday coming up this weekend and I finally got his present mailed off today. Guess what I forgot to put with his present? His card. Well, at least I can share it with you!

I may or may not get this off to him. Sometimes is seems like getting a letter off in the mail is a major accomplishment. Maybe I'll just save the card for next year's birthday. But, then I would have to be able to locate this card one year from now. Not sure that would happen.

(Card supplies from the Scrapbook Circle November Kit.)

I just signed up for the FREE Inspiration Everywhere class by Jessica Sprague. I've taken a few classes from Jessica before and they are always so well organized and full of ideas.

Even though this is such a busy time of year, I figured I could sign up for the class with a low commitment since it's free and I can go back and reference the class someday later when I don't have as much going on. Not sure when that will be, but you never know.

Thanks for stopping by!

NYC Treats and Enjoying Fall

Last month I was lucky enough to spend some time with my family in New York City. We had such a great time.

While we were there, we made it to a point to visit as many different places for treats as we could. We found some really great places and have a few more on our list to try next time.

The first layout I want to share today shows a few of the treat places we visited in NYC.

Just looking at those photos make me want to pack my bags and head back for more!

While we we visiting NYC, we drove over to Boston for a few days. It was so fun to see all of the fall colors.

Since we don't get to see leaves changing colors near our house in Arizona, it was a real treat to get to see them on our trip!

Fall Decor and A Party

A few days ago I knew I would be sitting at one of my kid's activites and decided to bring along a stack of neglectect magazine and catalogs. A few of my favorite finds were from the Pottery Barn catalog.

On this page, I love the the dried corn tied around the glass vases. It's such a simple idea and it adds the perfect autumn touch to the table.

Check on the tablecloth in this photo. Actually, it's not even cloth, it's butcher paper! This would make clean up easy plus the kids could color on the paper if they finished eating early.

The third thing I loved in the catalog was this giant chalkboard platter. It didn't look like it was for sale, but I'm sure you could make your own for less anyway with a big platter and some chalkboard paint.

One last thing to share today...a fun Wizard of Oz Party! TomKat Studios has a fantastic Wizard of Oz party posted on her blog. Stop by and check it out. Be prepared to be inspired. I wish I could have gone to that party!

Happy Monday!

Hope your week is off to a good start. It's been a very productive Monday here. Got the kids off to school (always an accomplishment), did dishes, 2 loads of laundry, went for a run, did the past month's accounting for my husband's business, wrote a blog post for Design.org and now I'm going to head out to pick the kids off from school. Just a regular, busy day around here. :)

Just wanted to share a few things today. First, I saw this Book of Thanks idea on the eighteen25 blog.
Each year, the family takes a photo of everyone on Thanksgiving and the gives everyone a chance to write something they are thankful for. This is such a simple design that would be so easy to replicate. Perfect way to record the growth of family/friends from year to year.

Today on the Cards Create Blog they are sharing my fall receipt holder that I made with the Scrapbook Circle November Kit.

They contacted me last week and asked if they could share it. So fun! They have a challenge posted asking that you create a fall project. They will feature some of their favorites next week.

I just came across a site that sells large spools of bakers twine (I love that stuff!) The spools have 240 yards of twine, so I'll have to get creative with using it, but I think a spool or two should make it's way to my house soon. Would be perfect for wrapping Christmas gifts or treat bags.

Now I just need to decide which colors to choose. They also do wholesale orders, so I may have to buy some for a Scrapbook Circle kit or two.

Which color would you choose?

Fun with Pipecleaners

This morning my daughters and I went to a baby shower for a friend who is having a baby boy in three weeks.

I had fun making a baby boy card with the November Scrapbook Circle Kit. The colors are just perfect for boy themed projects.

I used a bit of glossy accents to attach the burlap to the card so that I was sure that it would stay attached.

While we were at the shower, they had a fun ring pipe cleaner craft for us to make. A lot of people there had made these before, but I'd never seen them.

Here's a look at my daughter's ring. I love the swirly center she added to her ring.

Here's a look at my ring. It's pretty big and I'm sure I won't wear it often, but it will be fun to pull out sometime for a playful occasion.

If you are like me and hadn't made these before, here is a video you can watch and see how they are made. The video shows how to make these with three pipe cleaners and we used 5 for our rings.

I just came across this recipe for Nutella Cheesecake Brownies today and I must make them soon.

Don't they look delicious?

Pinatas and Being Inspired

This afternoon I had ten 8-10 year old girls over to my house to decorate pinatas. They all has such a fun time.

Last month we built with pinatas with balloons and newspaper by following these directions.

This is the first time I've made a pinata and it's been a fun process.

I gave no guidance on how to decorate the pinatas so that they could have some fun creative playtime. I was impressed with their enthusiasm and creativity.

On my friend Bethany's blog today she shared a fantastic new online magazine called Inspired Ideas. You can follow the link to the Inspired Ideas blog and then click on the photo of the magazine cover to open the magazine.

This magazine is filled with beautiful ideas. A few of my favorites are the printable Christmas Tags on page 64, the Yo-yo Christmas Tree on page 141 and the Cookie Cutter Jewelry on page 157. I'm sure you'll find a lot of other great ideas.

Plus the magazine has several adds from interesting ads from handmade crafters and etsy shops that I want to check out.

Voting and Crafting

I voted today! I really love going to vote. Although I wasn't too excited about some of the options, I still think it's important to vote. :)

Look what arrived on my door step a couple of days ago!

I'm really exited to get to use this line for one of my first Fancy Pants assignments. You can see some of what the Fancy Pants team has already created with this line on their blog.
Such beautiful work!

Last week I came across a great craft project that uses plastic plates sprayed with chalkboard paint to make customizable chargers. With these on the table, you will always have the perfect theme for any occasion. Here are a few of my favorite ideas...

One last share for today. I saw these cookie cutters the other day and thought they were quite funny.

I'm not sure if these would make Christmas good neighbor gifts or not. Actually, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't make them, but I do think my kids would like them.Hope you are having a great day!
