Project Life >>> May 2014 Part Two

Hello, hello!  It's been a while since I've worked on my Project Life album and it feels good to have another spread complete. May was such a great month filled with lots of events and I'm happy to have the highlights documented here.

I bought a few of the 4 X4 grid page protectors from October Afternoon and this is the first spread where I've used one of them. I love that it can hold so many photos! I think it may be my new favorite style of pocket page.

Lacrosse Banquet /// Audrey's Birthday /// Honors Assembly /// Math Award /// Babysitting Vincent /// Family Bowling /// Feed My Starving Children Volunteering

Memorial Day /// @ the Car Wash /// Pool Building /// Wedding Cake Tasting /// @ the Lake

Still loving this Project Life process because I'm able to document so many little bits and pieces of what is going on in our family.

Project Life >>> May 2014 Part One

Can you believe that May is almost over? Time truly is flying by. It's going to be Christmas before we know it. Since I can't stop time from speeding by, I'm happy to be documenting what we are up to around our house in my Project Life album.

Mother's Day ///Woman of the Year Banquet Mother's Day Tea /// One the Musical /// Bride's Dress Shipping with my Sister

Mother's Day /// Chandler Children's Choir Concert /// San Diego Field Trip

Insert page with more Mother's Day Photos

Back of the insert page with Paybill from Once

Summer is in full swing around here. School ended last week and we are now attempting to keep the kids busy. It's already too hot to play outside during most of the day, so we are hopeful that our pool will be finished sometime this summer so we can enjoy it!

Project Life >>> April 2014 Part 2

Hello! Hope your week is going well. It's already Wednesday. Tonight I'm heading off on a 48 hour field trip with Max and all of the 5th and 6th graders at his school. We are riding a bus overnight to San Diego and will spend time at Sea World, an Aquarium, a floating lab and a BBQ on the beach. Should be a lot of fun without a lot of sleep.

The last two weeks in April were really fun and it was great to get it documented in my Project Life album. Even though it all just happened a couple of weeks ago, it was still so much fun to go back through my photos and see what we were up doing in April. Looking through photos and remembering everything we are able to do makes me grateful for this project.

Easter Sunday /  My Cool Boys /// iPhone Girl /// Easter Egg Hunt /// Egg Dyeing

Welcoming Kristen Home from Her Mission /// Cousins /// Last LAX Game /// Gramp's Birthday /// Chillin' on the Patio

Hooray for another completed spread. Okay, I'm off to pack for the San Diego Field trip. WIsh me luck!

Project Life >>> April 1

Still loving my simplified approach to my Project Life album. Seriously, it only took a couple of hours and I was able to put the entire of month of April into the album. Two spreads for one month and it's done. Perfect.

Most of these pictures will never end up on a layout, but I love that they are showcased here. Nice way to showcases the bits and pieces of our family life. I love looking at all of these photos in one place.

Note from Ward /// National Siblings Day /// Watching General Conference /// School Report /// Pool Permit & Pool Progress!

New Deck /// Making Jam /// Aunt Carla's Birthday /// LAX Girls /// Suns Game /// Hannah & Friends

There you have it, another week complete. Love that.

Project Life >>> March 2014 Part 2

Hello!  It's another great day. Perfect day to check out a Project Life spread, right?

We had a full and fun week around the second part of March. Still loving the two week spread in the Project Life album. Still telling many of our stories and sharing many of my favorite photos from the two weeks.

St. Patrick's Day Neighborhood Party /// Creating a Mission Album for My Sister with My Mom /// Hoops in the Driveway /// Audrey Playing Lacrosse

Friend Birthday Party @ a Comedy Club /// Family Lunch at Pizzeria Bianco /// Dolphin Presentation /// Lacrosse Girls /// Choir Concert /// LDS Woman's Conference

There you have it! Another Project Life spread is in the books.

Project Life >>> March 2014 Part 1

Still loving this Project Life documenting!

Here's a look at my March 1 - 15 spread.

This was a busy two weeks for us. It included a lot of festivities involving our Gilbert Temple dedication plus spring great. Lots of good memories!

PAC-12 Trip to Tucson for our Ward & Max /// Playground Pic /// Spring Break /// Cousin's 2nd Birthday /// Yard Renovations

We had so many spring break pictures, so I used an insert page protector for a bunch of 2 X 3 inch pictures to include a few spring break favorites on one side and a big photo of our family in front of the Gilbert Temple cut to fit into the pockets on the other side of the page.

Besides the photo inserts, I also included local newspaper clippings talking about the temple celebration and dedication. Perfect place to store these!

Playing Ticket to Ride /// Temple /// Forefoathers for Dinner with Aunt Michelle /// Singing the National Anthem at Spring Training /// Aquarium Field Trip /// Dr. Seuss' Birthday

One of my favorite things about scrapbooking and documenting our life is the gratitude I feel for all of the things our family is able to do. Recording all of this really helps me focus on the blessings in my life.

Project Life >>> February 2014 Part 2

Collecting bits and pieces from our family's daily activities and compiling them into my Project Life album continues to be one of my favorite memory keeping activities. This album helps me keep the "must save" papers under control because there is a planned place to put them. Plus, I will never have enough time to create a single layout featuring all of these photos, so it's another way I enjoy telling our family stories.

Doing two weeks per spread has proved to be the best thing for getting me excited about this album again. Producing a spread for each week in 2012 and 2013 just became a little too much for me. It is great to look back on those albums and see so much detail, but simplifying a bit is much better for me. It was either simplify or take a break from PL for a bit and simplifying was definitely the right choice.

Santa Barbara Choir Trip Highlights

Mom's Birthday Brunch /// Our Backyard Pool Digging Begins /// Bike Riding /// Basketball /// Water Gun Fight at the Neighbor's House

Since going to two weeks per spread, there have been more insert pages. Fine with me! In the end, the same highlights from what is going on are recorded and I love that. This spread's inserts include our choir badges from the Santa Barbara trip Audrey and I took, a program from the choir trip, a report Hannah wrote on Egypt and an All About Me poster Hannah made for school. Perfect place to collect all of this!

Project Life 2014 >>> February Part 1

I'm continuing to fill a spread in my Project Life album every two weeks and I love the flexibility and time saved by not doing a spread a week.

Lacrosse Tournament /// Grandma's Sugar Cookies /// Gilbert Temple Open House /// Cross Country Banquet /// Babysitting Cousin Vincent

This spread has two insert pages which may seem like I ended up doing a lot more than just one spread, but really it just gave a space to share a few more photos plus a few Valentines.

Valentines /// Phoenix Suns Game /// Cross Country Meet /// Boy Scout Fundraiser

On a Run /// School Valentine Party /// More Suns Game

Success! Another two weeks documented. Love this project!

Project Life 2014 >>> January Part 2

I think one of my favorite things about adding to our Project Life album is the opportunity to reflect on life and all that we are able to do. Life really is a gift and I feel like documenting it helps me focus on the things that are most important.

Since I've switched over to doing just a couple of spreads a month, I feel like there is room to still tell our stories. There is still plenty of space for capturing many of the moments I want to preserve.

January was a great month. The weather was gorgeous and we spent a lot of time going on family bike rides. We also filled out time with sports with our kids (basketball, lacrosse and cross country) plus a baby shower at our house. Good times!

Baby Shower Thank You /// Ashley + Audrey: Friends for 13+ Years! /// Lunch Date /// Bike Riding /// In-N-Out Lunch /// Playing Suspend with Friends

Baby Shower for My Nephew /// Trip to the Zoo /// Basketball /// Waffle Love Truck /// Books

These Design K Photo Pocket Pages that I used on the right hand side of this spread are my new favorite style of pocket pages! I love that they have a bunch of square pockets which is perfect for Instagram photos. It seems that I use a lot of my Instagram photos in this album, so the square photos perfectly slip into the square pockets.  I've also spied these Little Square Page Protectors from October Afternoon and hope to order some of those soon too!

Wishing you a wonderful Saturday. We are off to a basketball game and then I'm attending a baby shower. No plans for tonight yet. Maybe we will order pizza and watch more Olympics!

Hello Project Life 2014!

There was a short moment when I considered taking this year off from adding to our Project Life album. But when I thought about the little stories and pictures that wouldn't be documented, I decided to keep it going another year.

I've decided to simplify the process this year by not doing a spread every week. Sometimes the weekly spread just felt like too much work and not enough fun. My main goal in doing this is to preserve our family memories, but it should be a fun process, right? So I'm thinking that this album will be about two spreads a month which is half of what my previous two years have been. There's still plenty of space to document all of the highlights.

Here's a look at my first spread for January that covers for the first week and a half of the month.

We packed a lot into the first couple weeks of the year and I'm happy to have a glimpse of what we were up to documented.

At CHA with some of the Scrapbook Circle Team /// Park + Bike Riding with the Kids /// Snow in Flagstaff /// Welcoming a Sweet New Cousin

CHA Disneyland Night /// Together in Flagstaff /// Neighborhood Bike Ride /// Messy Jewelry Box

Going to roughly two spreads a month makes me excited again about this project again. A little pile has already collected for the first week of February and I'm looking forward to documenting 2014.

I feel so thankful for all of the blessings in my life and this is a nice way to document and reflect on how grateful I am.

Project Life >>> December 1 - 7

Hello, hello! Are you gearing up for a fun filled week? I am! I love Christmas and all of the fun family traditions we have. Now I just need to finish wrapping presents, so I can really enjoy things!

Today I want to share a Project Life spread from the first week of this month. This is my final project for the Glitz Design Team and I'm excited to share it with you!

December is always filled with a lot of activities. I try to soak it all up and enjoy it rather than feel like we have too much going on.

Gingerbread Cookies /// Our Elf /// Saying Goodbye to Family in NC

Hanging Christmas Lights /// Lunch with Friends in Raleigh /// Hannah + Friends /// School Christmas Program /// Work Christmas Party /// Color in Motion Run

Wishing you a wonderful week!

Project Life >>> Week of September 8 - 14

Last week I realized that I was about 9 weeks behind on my Project Life album and decided that it was time to dedicate some time to cranking out some pages. Yikes! I don't mind being a bit behind, but I don't want to get too far behind on this album. I've caught up on about 5 weeks, so I'm feeling better.

Here's a look at our week of September 8. This was the week I did the Week in the Life photo project, so I had a lot of pictures to choose from. So nice!

Bedtime Reading /// Playing Marbles /// Going for a Run /// Barbieland /// Fun with Friends

Morning Breakfast Scene /// Smoothie /// Snack at Eegee's in Tucson /// New Car

There you go! Another week is complete. Happy day!

Project Life >>> Week of October 27th

I seriously had so much fun putting this week's Project Life spread together. Since we had so many Halloween activities this week, I decided to use the Glitz Raven line for the whole spread. There were so many fun elements in this line which made putting things together really fun.

This week we were challenged on the Glitz Design blog to use Whatnots on our project. Whatnots are die cut shapes and cards that come in a package filled with lots of bits of goodness. The big pumpkin, owl, chevron tag and "love Halloween" card are all from the Whatnots package. If you want to check out more Whatnot inspiration, be sure to check out the Glitz blog this week.

Pumpkin Carving /// Trick or Treating // Birthday Boy /// Candy!

We Dressed Up! /// Iron Man /// Ms. Captain America /// 70's Bridesmaid /// Gandalf /// Zombie

We all had fun dressing up in our family this year. Ward and I don't usually dress up, but we did this year and loved it! I wore the bridesmaid dress that my aunt wore at my parents' wedding. Pretty cool that the dress has survived in a closet somewhere for over 40 years!

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your weekend.

Project Life >>> September 1 - 7

It's been quite a while since I've posted Project Life pages. My scrapbooking time has been so limited lately and my PL pages haven't made it to the top of the list for a while. This past week I was able finally work on some PL pages. So fun! I really had a great time putting them together.

I still love that these pages help me record our family stories in a different way than traditional layouts. Both formats are great and I love the variety. This week started with Labor Day weekend and family getaway to Flagstaff and ended with a church campout in the pines. Love all of our time spent in cooler weather this week!

Tonto Natural Bridge /// Hiking /// L + W /// Friend's Birthday with the Neighborhood Ladies /// Campfire and S'mores

Flagstaff Extreme Ropes Course /// County Fair // Cute Note from Hannah

It was fun to relive this week as I put everything together. I'm so thankful for weeks like this where we can get away and spend more time together as a family.
